Cushcraft X9 Baluns
I have had an X-9 since August of and I am very pleased with it’s performance! The great performance in 10 M. Cushcraft also has a 9 element version using a 24ft boom Here we go up the tower. This is what I enjoy doing in Ham radio. Here is a view of the Cushcraft X9 Balun.

Anyway, I am more than satisfied with the antenna as it stands. Just traps from one element was used back The noise on the antennas have been reduced from casual observation. The centre piece had to be reinforced on the inside to support the weight.
It also works well on the WARC bands. I’ve literally done nothing more than check the nuts and bolts and coax connections.

Overall, the written instructions are as good as anyone’s, but a couple of mis-labeled drawings were a small problem. Now that its been in service for about 6 years I still x99 it at a 5. Rebuilding efforts, following a lengthy renovation, are now mostly complete!
