Eona finds herself lost and confused about what she is feeling and how she should react. You haven’t read about EONA She is going in and out of the Shadow World and is meeting Ido in them. Teens drink wine and get drunk. It’s pretty frustrating to know all the answers and to want to shake them into the character.
She told me I HAD to read it, and as I tend to do with most paperbacks, I shoved it drzgoneye the black hole I call a bookcase and promptly forgot it existed. It’s intensely layered and detailed for any novel, let alone YA. In truth, secondary characters were far more interesting than Eon himself.
It may not be a truth that others can accept, but I cannot live rdborn other way. And yet, I will be the first one to admit that Eona is not Mulan and her story is much richer and much darker than a Disney treat.

View all 40 comments. It is is very ceremonious, very precise and measured. I normally like young adult novels. If you, like me, have always wished that Tamora Pierce and Anne McCaffrey would finally admit their deep, abiding love for one another; make it official with a short ceremony in Massachusetts; then decide to start a family draglneye adopting a fierce Asian baby, then I think you will fall in love with this book.
Only Eon’s status as a potential apprentice keeps him in his position of safety. In the end I’m glad??
Damn was this girl stupid. Archived from the original PDF on 2 April Sounds dragonwye, I know. My main issue with this book is this: Instead, I constantly had to battle my desire to abandon them in favor of something easier to read, or a more likable heroine at the very least.

But those are the only things I really liked about it. Satisfying fantasy crime drama for tweens. She’s blurting out statements right and left, when just months before she lowers her eyes and says “yes, Master,” “yes, Swordmaster” and so on.
Award Honor List Do not get me wrong, I love Mulan and as embarrassing as it is, I know it nearly by heart.

There is also a trans woman in this book, which I did not see coming at all, and she plays a very significant role. The Dragoneye lords had almost a spiritual connection with their beasts and channeled the dragons’ power from inside themselves.
